Positions
Program Coordinators
Help facilitate each camp week’s program. Program Coordinators are expected to demonstrate strong leadership, maturity and good judgment. Individuals in this role will help guide the direction of various weekly programs and activities. This is a leadership position that requires flexibility and willingness to help where needed. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age with one year of college or work experience. (Lifeguard certification preferred)
Camp Health Supervisor
Checks in all campers, distributes medications, and administers emergency procedures. Age 18 with a year of college or work experience.
Senior Counselors
Will be directly responsible for cabin groups of six to eight campers per week. Senior Counselors will be expected to engage their campers, while maintaining a Christ-centered and safe environment. Senior Counselors should be with their cabin groups and adhering to the camp guidelines at all times. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age with one year of college or work experience.
Junior Staff
Supports the in-camp staff during the day and assists with programming in the evenings. Applicants must be at least 16 and entering their sophomore year in high school. Depending on the camp’s need, Junior staff may also be 18 years old and recent high school graduates.
Cooks
Bethel Horizons has three kitchens – Barn Retreat Center, Prairie Center, and Chuckwagon - all having different needs. The cook is is responsible for planning menus, ordering, preparing and serving food, and keeping the kitchens in clean and orderly fashion. Age 18 with a year of college or work experience.
Hospitality Staff
Will facilitate the cleaning of the Retreat Centers on Sunday’s and Friday’s. They maintain the cleanliness of the buildings throughout the week. In addition they assist the cooks in the kitchen with meal preparation, serve food, and dishes. Age 18 with a year of college or work experience.
Maintenance Assistant
This person assists the Resident Manager with maintenance duties, which include cleaning, garbage and recycling removal, trail maintenance, etc. In addition, this person will also assist with other jobs around camp as they arise, which may include helping with programs and campers. Age 18 with a year of college or work experience.
Lifeguards
This person is responsible for the care and management of campers and staff while at the beach at Governor Dodge State Park, Kickapoo River, and pool settings as well as helping with camp programs as needed. Must have Red Cross or equivalent lifeguard training. Age 18 with a year of college or work experience.
