Come and join Amber Corbit as she leads a soy candle making workshop. We will be using 100% soy wax and adding high quality scents to make wonderfully smelling, clean burning candles for you to take home and enjoy. Option of bringing your own special containers, or using some of Amber’s unique thrifty and vintage finds. Each participant will make at minimum 6-8 candles, depending on size, maybe more!

Spend a few quiet days at Adamah's beautiful art campus. Saturate yourself in your own ceramic work, meet other potters, treat yourself to good food, afternoon naps, nature hikes, Governor Dodge State Park and the local art scene. Your time is your own! Adamah Studio will supply you with 2 bags of stoneware clay, a wheel, hand-building tools and lodging on the art campus at the Art Ventures Retreat Center. No instruction included.

This fun fact-filled workshop will enlighten you about the many fascinating aspects of the wheel. Spend the morning learning about the rich history of the wheel, such as its birthplace, its traditional uses, and common wheel shapes as we enjoy a guided nature hike through Horizons trails. In the afternoon, use a potters wheel to shape a raw lump of clay into a round ceramic vessel for your own personal enjoyment. Your creation will be fired and available to take home at a later date.

Spend a fun day getting acquainted with a spinning wheel! Adamah will open the class to 6 individuals at a time who would like one-on-one instruction on the basics of spinning wool into yarn. We will start with how to card wool into rolags, discuss wool roving and the difference between woolen and worsted yarn. Come join us for a lovely day of creative beading and learn to make gorgeous seed bead earrings. We will be using the basic brick- stick beading technique, while adding some fringe to the length of your liking. Choose from a wide selection of bead colors!

Come for a 5 day retreat and learn to fire in our Bailey gas reduction kiln. Bring 20-30 bisque fired, cone 10 clay body, pieces of work. Spend time glazing your pots with studio glazes and learning to load the kiln. We will spend a day firing the kiln (12+ hour firing). We will unload the kiln on Thursday morning before you leave so you can take your fired pots home! If you can knit and pearl, you can make this shawl! Come for a relaxing weekend at our retreat center while I guide you step-by-step through the pattern to knit a beautiful triangular shawl. The beauty of this shawl is it is made from 1 skein of yarn. It is lacey and drapes well around any outfit, summer or winter. Pick from a few variegated colors of yarn. Once you make one, you will want to start on another!

Spend a weekend learning how to throw on the pottery wheel! This workshop is created specifically for beginners with little to no clay experience! Hailey will give an overview of the ceramics process including wedging, center clay on the wheel, bringing clay up to form a pot and taking pots off the wheel. There will be demonstrations, one-on-one help and time to practice, practice, practice. Leave your pots at the studio to be bisque fired and you can return to pick them up!
