BREAKFAST WITH THE BIRDS
Join naturalist Eric Volden for an entertaining morning of bird watching and bird lore at Bethel Horizons' bird feeding station. A hearty breakfast will be served as Eric identifies birds coming to the feeders and relates bird feeding information andstories. Bring binoculars if you have them, and bird feeding and stories to share. To register and for more information contact Eric Volden at 608.574.1992. FAMILY FISHING WEEKEND
Join us for a weekend of fishing fun and learn about area fish while you sharpen your fishing skills. We'll fish at several area "hotspots" each day including lakes, rivers, and trout streams. Bring along your own fishing gear or use some of ours. Cost: $125/adult; $75/child 5-12.Two nights housing in the Prairie Center and four meals included. June 29 (2pm)-July 1 (2pm).
EXPLORING THE HEAVENS
Bethel Horizons has planned several astronomy programs for the public in 2012. Telescopes will be set up for viewing distant planets, nebula and galaxies. A laser pointer will be used to acquaint participants with seasonal constellations and the night sky. Dress warmly and bring binoculars if you have them. If the sky is too cloudy for good viewing, the activity will be cancelled. To register and for more information, contact Eric Volden at 608.574.1992. EARTH FESTIVAL
Enjoy the beautiful wildflowers, the magnificent view and an abundance of migrating birds as we offer a variety of environmental activities, demonstrations and speakers emphasizing the beauty and importance of nature. This is our Earth Day, Astronomy Day, Arbor Day and Spring Festival wrapped into one celebration. WEEKEND WITH THE NATURALIST
Spend a fun weekend with your family at Horizons before the summer is gone and you're back to your same old routines. Naturalist Eric Volden will lead you through a variety of activities including canoeing, swimming, campfires, astronomy, rock climbing, live animals and nature hikes. Cost: $125/adult; $75/child 5-12. Two nights housing in the Prairie Center and 4 meals included. August 3rd (2pm) -5th (2pm)
KICKAPOO RIVER CANOE TRIP
Join us for this family outing on one of the areas most scenic rivers, the beautiful, winding Kickapoo. A naturalist's dream, we'll experience a variety of rare plants and animals, do a little hiking, exploring and swimming as we canoe the upper stretches of the river. Lunch, transportation, and canoes are all provided. Sign up early as space is limited by contacting Eric Volden at 608.574.1992. Cost: $35/adult, $25/child 12 and under August 25, 9am-5pm.
CHRISTMAS SUPPER
Experience a special Christmas evening featuring a supper with traditional foods of 'Christmas Past' in front of Bethel Horizons' glowing fireplace, a special Christmas program, and caroling along a luminary-lit trail with lit Christmas trees in a woodland setting. Reservations required and limited. Cost:$15/adults, $10/children 12 and under December 15, 5-8 pm
